The Governing Council of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina, at its special meeting held on Thursday 2nd July 2020, has approved the appointment of Professor Sanusi Mamman as the substantial Vice-Chancellor as confirmed by the visitor to the University, His Excellency Governor Aminu Bello Masari.
In a press release signed by the Registrar of the University and Secretary to the Council, Nasir Bello, the new appointment which is for a single term of five years as provided by the law of the University was as a result of the expiration of the tenure of Professor Idris Isa Funtua as the Vice-Chancellor on 28th June 2020.
Prof. Sanusi Mamman has served as a Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) in the University from 2014 to 2016 and also served as the Acting Vice-Chancellor in 2015 prior to the appointment of Prof. Funtua as the Vice-Chancellor.
He is a Professor of Special Education in the Faculty of Education, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina and he is an indigene of Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina, born on 17th July 1965.
The Governing Council and the entire University community wish Prof. Sanusi Mamman success as he takes over the leadership of the University.
