UNIZIK Student Crowned Best Graduating Student From Law School

Mark Anthony Ezeoha, a recent graduate of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka beat has emerged as the best graduating male student from the Nigeria Law School while Bukola Alada, from the University of Ibadan, won the best law graduating student of the year. The young legal practitioner was among the best students from law school examinations in the 2020/2021 academic session. He was called to the Nigerian Bar on the 29th of July 2021 as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court. 

At the ceremony, the young graduate was awarded the Director General Prize for 1st Class Students, Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali SAN Prize For Overall Best Male Student Of The Year, the Nigerian Bar Association Prize For Best Male Student And the Boinime Jackson Lott Foundation Award For Best Overall Male Student Of The Year. 

 

Mark Anthony Ezeoha hails from Enugu State, Nigeria. He was the 2017/2018 President of the Law Students Association (LAWSA) in UNIZIK and the International Law Students Association’s UNIZIK campus representative. He is the Executive Director of ChampionsPro Africa, a consulting firm, an enthusiast in emerging legal trends and has interned in notable Nigerian law firms including Templares. He writes, advocates for good governance and is a social commentator. During his time in university, he was known for his love for football and had a robust social life during his undergraduate years.

In his interview with Tunde Asosanya, he attributed his success to his habit of studying intensely and the positive effect of having a study group. However, he acknowledged the role mentors played in his success story. According to him, they were a key link in his success. He narrated how the lockdown helped him to cover his courses as many times as possible and went further to point out the three boxes of law school study, including hard work, smart work and excellent work. Hard work means understanding law school topics, smart work deals with improving your knowledge and seeking added information and excellent work is simulating all learnt for examinations.

Finally, he advised those aspiring to greatness to work hard in achieving it as excellence is not cast in stone. According to him, you must want it badly enough to make the necessary sacrifices.
