The Provost, College of Health Sciences, Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka, Professor Okwudili O. Udemezue has been announced dead by the authorities of the University.
In a press release signed by the Acting Head, Information and Public Relations Unit of the institution, Chika Gladys Ene, The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Charles Esimone FAS, on behalf the entire University community regret to announce the demise of the Professor Okwudili O. Udemezue, the Provost, Colleen of Health Sciences, Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka.
According to the press release, the vice-chancellor described the news as a rude shock and described the deceased as a seasoned academician, an astute administrator, godly and as a leader who is highly committed in the discharge of his duties to the University.
The provost until his death was a member of the University Governing Council representing Senate, Chairman, University COVID-19 committee; has served as sub-Dean and Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Head, Department of Anatomy and on various University committees.
The University is deeply saddened over the demise of this great father and teacher.
The University management commiserates with the entire family of the deceased and prays that almighty God grant everyone the fortitude to bear the loss as the burial arrangements will be announced later.
