23-year-old Felix Olowookere was killed by suspected cultists believed to be students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA, Ondo State, on Sunday.
Mr Olowokere was killed on the Medoline Road, outside the AAUA campus, several eyewitnesses confirmed to CAMPUS REPORTER.
Mosopeoluwa Fayehun, a student of the faculty of law, said the deceased did not give up the ghost until after the school clinic refused to attend to him.
“He was stabbed by cultists outside the school, around Modoline,” Mr Fayehun said. “The guy was taken to the school health centre for treatment but they didn’t accept him.”
“The clinic demanded a police report, which they could not provide,” he added.
The Public Relations Officer of the Students’ Union, Segun Daniels, stated that the deceased wasn’t a student.
“He came visiting and he’s not a student of AAUA. I also heard that he was killed by members of a cult group but I’m not sure,” said Mr Daniels.
This was corroborated by the school’s spokesperson, Shola Iromu.
“Somebody died but he was not a student,” said Mr Iromu. “He’s not our student. But his identity can only be confirmed by the police. The incident didn’t happen on campus.”
Meanwhile, in an interview with Daily Post, the father of the deceased, Mr Olowookere Snr, disclosed that the incident occurred when the family was away for Sunday service to thank God for the successful wedding ceremony of their daughter on Saturday.
He told DAILY POST that his son, who used to repair phones and laptops, was killed by one of the students who was owing the deceased N3,500 in connivance with some cultists.
