The management of Rufus Giwa polytechnic, Owo, (RUGIPO) has announced that the 2019/2020 session’s mid-semester test will be taken between the 10th and 12th of March this year.
This was made known in a circular released from the office of the institution’s Rector, with ref number RUGIPO/REC/MPO/122/VOL.IV/152, signed by Ilugbami J.O.
The circular read: “At its meeting on Thursday 25th February 2021, management considered issues particularly those relating to activities in the 2nd semester of 2019/2020 session and resolved as follows:
“That Thursday to Friday, that is the 10th to 12th of March be set aside for the mid-semester test across all the faculties in the institution.”
The circular made it mandatory that all Head of Departments (HODs) should draw a timetable that cuts across all the courses offered by their students.
“In line with (1) above, individual Head of Department has been mandated to draw time table to cover all the courses, or as the case may be.”
The circular added that the Bursary taskforce on the enforcement of full school fees payment should go round during the mid-semester test to ensure strict compliance with the order.
More so, the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) centre should generate the names of students who have paid their school fees for all departments.
According to the circular, any Higher National Diploma (HND2) student who fails to pay for their school fees on time will not be mobilised for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme. Additionally, any National Diploma Student (ND2) who fails to pay their school fees will not be given an Industrial Training letter (IT).
However, the circular urged all the students to partake in the ongoing identity card capturing which will serve as a requisite for gaining access to the forthcoming second-semester examination hall and venues.
In the same vein, the circular asked the directorates of academic affairs to attend to all the regularisation needs for students as soon as possible.
