Osun set to reopen hotels and others, summons operators

The government of Osun State is set to reopen hotels, bars and relaxation joints. This follows the approval of the State Executive Council at a meeting held recently. The state government has now invited the operators of bars, hotels and relaxation joints.

The government hopes to use the meeting to communicate the guidelines for reopening and subsequent operations of these businesses to their operators.

Each of the associations invited to the meeting is expected to send not more than five delegates to the meeting.

In March, Osun State Government closed hotels, bars and schools in an attempt to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease. Schools have remained closed since then except for students in exit classes who resumed recently to take their final examinations. Hotels, bars and others in the hospitality industry have since started operations against government directives in the state.

The state government also met with Principals of secondary schools in the state before their eventual resumption on Tuesday, 4th August.

Public Service Announcement: Osun Govt To Meet With Hoteliers, Owners of Bars and Relaxation Joints

Following the decision of the State’s Executive Council to reopen businesses in the hospitality industry as part of the next phase of easing the COVID-19 imposed lockdown, the government will be having a meeting with Representatives of owners of hotels, bars and relaxation joints.

This is necessitated by the need to communicate the protocols required to guide the reopening of their businesses.

The meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19, 2020, by 10:00 am at the EXCO Lounge, State Secretariat, Abere.

Each association is expected to send five representatives to the meeting to ensure adherence to the physical distancing protocol. Please note that nobody will be allowed entry into the venue unless they have their face masks on.

Funke Egbemode, Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation
