The management of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, has released the dates for the screening exercise of the 2020/2021 Directorate Indigent Students’ Scholarship Award (DISSA).
This was contained in an internal memo released from the Directorate of Students’ Affairs, dated 11th of June, 2021, directed to all the scholarship scheme applicants and signed by the Acting Dean, Student Affairs, Moruff Sanjo OLADIMEJI (PhD).
The screening exercise has been scheduled to hold for three days, kicking off with students in the Faculties of Medicine, Basic Medical Sciences, Pharmacy and College of Agricultural Sciences on Wednesday 16th of June, 2021.
The screening of students in the College of Engineering and Environmental Science, Faculties of Science and Law has been scheduled for Thursday 17th of June, 2021, while the screening of students in the Faculties of Management Sciences, Arts and Education has been scheduled for Friday 18th of June, 2021.
The venue for the screening is the Board Room of the Directorate of Students’ Affair and the time is 11:00 am daily.
The internal memo announced that “All students who have applied for the scholarship scheme are expected to come along with relevant documents including a printout of their current Grade Point Average (GPA) to support his/her screening application.”
The scholarship scheme, which is a yearly exercise in the University, is being carried out by the Directorate of Students’ Affairs to assist indigent but brilliant students with the intention to motivate them for better performance in their academic career.
The application for the scholarship scheme was opened on Monday 17th of May, 2021 and closed on Thursday 20th of May, 2021. The applicants who were eligible to apply must fall in one of the various categories such as being physically challenged, could not pay school fees due to incapability of parents but scores above 70% in their courses and must be recommended by Provost or Dean of College or Faculty, those who parents are not alive and must show evidence through their departments and faculties, as well as those with a single parent and such parent, is disempowered.
