The Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta has suspended the ongoing first-semester examination for the 2019/2020 academic session due to the ongoing #EndSARS crises.
The Head Public Relations and Protocol of the Polytechnic Mr Yemi Ajibola disclosed this to CAMPUS REPORTER on Wednesday.
The Polytechnic management had earlier insisted that the institution’s examination will continue despite the order by the state Governor, Dapo Abiodun, that all schools in the state be shut due to the #EndSARS crises.
The management said the State Government granted the Polytechnic the approval to continue the ongoing first-semester examination despite the order that all schools in the state be shut. This decision did not go down well with many of the students as most of them did not want to continue the exam under the tension.
However, on Wednesday, the PRO disclosed that the management has decided to listen to the plea of the students to allow students to stay away from the Polytechnic due to the ongoing crises.
Ajibola said the management made the decision in view of the plea of most of the students who said they cannot continue with the exam due to the tension.
He, therefore, stated that the first-semester examination will continue next week Monday.
He said: “The Management has considered the pleas of students to be allowed to stay away in view of the protester’s threat and has put the examinations away till Monday 26th October 2020.”
