The programme tagged: “The Impact and The Virtue,” was organised in a bid to sensitise and empower the students on academics, entrepreneurship and living a virtuous life.

A panel discussion was moderated by Awe Similoluwa on the importance and necessity of education in the society and life of an individual as a whole.

Another panel discussion was held, focusing on the importance of women in society.

It was anchored by Mrs Omotayo Olatilu, the representative of the Commissioner of Women Affairs. Dr Kemi Omole, the Director of FUOYE’s counselling unit also added her quota to the discussion.

In the third section of the summit, entrepreneurial skills acquisition took the centre stage as young entrepreneurs spoke about their experiences and inspired the students to do something extra.

Mr Atobatele Moyosore, a manager from Access Bank, encouraged students to not rely on their various fields of study exclusively, asking them to consider setting up a future for themselves through entrepreneurship.

The summit, which was aimed at impacting the lives of the students on campus and in the outside world positively as well as also to teach virtue to the society at large, was able to fulfil its purpose. Students who spoke to UCJ FUOYE happily expressed their profound gratitude for a day and opportunity like it.

Aduragbemi from the Accounting department expressed her joy after the summit and extended her appreciation to the organisers of the programme. According to her, the programme was fantastic.

“The entrepreneurial aspect of the programme really helped me. I enjoyed it the most. It enlightened me on how to start a business of my own. As a student, it made me realise the fact that I can, at this present level, be a successful entrepreneur,” she added.
