According to the release signed by the incumbent President, Mr. Lukmon Fasasi, the convention, which is expected to hold on the 6th and 7th Days of October 2017, would receive about 300 campus editors across the country.
“Campus Editors would be joined at the convention by the Ogun State Commissioner for Information and strategy; Chief Dayo Adeneye, who is expected to declare the 2017 convention opened. We gathered that the National Association of Nigerian Campus Editors (NANCE) is an umbrella body of campus editors across Nigeria Tertiary Institutions borne out of the need to bring together all pen pushers from various citadels of learning, with the aim of improving campus journalism through improved and closed relation of her members.
NANCE also serves as an important link between campus editors and full-fledged editors in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Association, with the motto – Veritas Omnia Vincit (truth conquers all) – has its tentacles spread in over 20 higher institutions in the nation and has continued to extend its reach and widen its horizons.
Mr. Fasasi buttressed that NANCE is open to Campus Editors-in-Chief, Editors, Chairmen of Editorial Board of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly magazines and dailies (online publications/blogs) inclusive.
“The noble students association is also open to intending editors – those that are willing to set up their own news agencies in any campus across Nigeria.”
